We just got back from Walt Disney World.
Ok, we didn’t just get back, I’ve been back for like a month. Whatever, same thing.
Anyway, we just got back from Walt Disney World and since then I’ve been obsessed with the Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles in Epcot’s France Pavilion. Believe it or not, I’ve never really actually toured the French Pavilion. I guess it’s because while I appreciate French culture and French cuisine, I always find myself spending more time in other parts of the World Showcase (the Japan Pavilion, basically).
This last trip, a combination of factors (mostly hunger and lots of rain) drove my family and me to retreat down the side alley of the France Pavilion and straight into that little cubbyhole of French-inspired treats and trinkets. One glance at that sprawling pastry case and I was a woman in love. Did you guys even know dinner plate-sized chocolate dipped meringues were even a thing?
Well, they are and they’re fabulous.
One of the savory treats we could not get enough of was the tartine auz fromages, which I think is French for “really fancy French-style pizza.” A wonderful blend of Swiss and Parmesan cheese, a wedge of goat cheese, baked on a slice of country-style rustic bread until it’s crispy, gooey, and practically begging to be devoured… What’s not to love?
Luckily, this is super easy to make and requires almost no effort which means you have no excuse to skip putting this on your table. And come on, it’s basically pizza. Even the pickiest of eaters will have nothing to turn up their noses to here!
